I know that, at times, life can feel challenging or confusing. It can sometimes be a struggle to make sense of our circumstances, our relationships or our state of mind. As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a confidential and non-judgemental space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings. My intention is to support you in finding answers and solutions to your current difficulties. I believe that, when offered genuine compassion and understanding, people are able to draw upon their own resources and find a way to move forward and make positive changes in life. My strong belief is that you are the expert on your own life and with support you are capable of finding your own answers to the challenges you face.
I am available for face-to-face appointments in Shrewsbury, as well as by telephone and online. I offer an initial consultation in which to explore what you hope to gain from counselling, whether short or long-term, and what form of counselling might be best for you.

I am a person-centred counsellor and supervisor offering face-to-face, telephone and online counselling and supervision. I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (Membership Number NCS14-00810).
With a background in business and education, I am well-placed to understand the problems and pressures faced by many in today's society, including adults as well as young people.
I have experience and qualifications in working with both adults and young people across a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, work-related stress, relationship issues and suicidal ideation.
Having studied and worked abroad, I understand the particular challenges presented by living overseas and adapting to new cultures and circumstances.
I have undertaken specialist training in the use of the expressive and therapeutic writing to support the counselling process.

Telephone and Online Counselling
For some people, telephone or online counselling can offer an effective alternative to face-to-face therapy at a time and place that is convenient to the client. There are many reasons why some people prefer telephone or online counselling; difficulties with mobility, perhaps, or simply finding the time to travel to appointments with a local counsellor.
I am fully trained to offer online counselling in a number of forms and am happy to discuss with you which might be the most suitable to meet your needs. You do not need to have specialist knowledge of technology, other than a working knowledge of using computers and the internet.
Email counselling - a weekly email, on an agreed day, using an encrypted secure web-mail service to ensure our emails remain confidential.
Secure instant messaging - a fifty-minute session during which we exchange instant messages using a secure encrypted service.
Audio-visual counselling via secure video conference - a fifty-minute session during which we meet via a secure video conference service.
There are some issues for which telephone and online counselling may not be appropriate and I will explore these with you should you express an interest in us working together. In some circumstances, face-to-face counselling, or another form of support, may be more suitable for your needs. I will advise you of this should this be the case.
Each counselling session lasts fifty minutes and is usually held at the same time each week, although some clients prefer to have fortnightly appointments. I offer short-term and long-term counselling across a range of issues.
Fees and Payment:
For face-to-face counselling, each 50-minute session is £50. Telephone and online counselling sessions cost £40 each. Payment is made in advance or on the day of the appointment by cash, cheque or BACS transfer.
I work with trainee and qualified counsellors face-to-face, online and by telephone. Supervision sessions cost £50 per 90-minute session.
If you are unable to make an agreed appointment, I ask that you give me at least 48 hours notice.
Anything you tell me will remain confidential, except in exceptional circumstances which I will explain to you should we begin working together.
